AI security: How will the world trust machine intelligence?

On 22 October, DNV Ventures brought together 170 investors, founders and experts at Byens Tak during Oslo Innovation Week for an afternoon dedicated to AI security.

With a packed room, engaging questions and conversations continuing well beyond the stage, one thing was clear: AI security is top of mind across the ecosystem.

Nermina Ek, Investment Director at DNV Ventures, shared how the Trust in AI investment landscape is evolving. DNV Ventures’ mapped landscape has grown from 275 companies in 2024 to 704 in 2026, with AI security now the largest category.

Marius Hobbhahn, co-founder and CEO of Apollo Research, took the conversation to the frontier of AI, exploring the security challenges emerging as AI agents move from generating answers to taking actions, and why organisations need visibility and control over what these systems do.

The questions and discussions throughout the afternoon reinforced just how quickly this space is developing, and how much there is still to understand as AI becomes more capable and autonomous.
