Gasunie and DNV extend collaboration with new technical services agreement
Gasunie has awarded DNV the "Technical Services Management and Maintenance" contract following a competitive tender process completed at the end of 2024. The contract covers a broad scope of services to support Gasunie’s critical energy infrastructure across the Netherlands and northern Germany.
Under the four-year agreement - with options for two extensions of two years each - DNV will provide Gasunie with a wide range of services, including measurements on process installations, material investigations, gas analyses, maintenance optimization advisory, fault analyses, and performance testing of equipment. The scope spans across natural gas, hydrogen, CO₂, heat networks, LNG, and cryogenic systems, reflecting Gasunie’s central role in the evolving energy landscape.
This week, the contract was officially kicked off at DNV’s Technology Centre in Groningen by Adriaan den Herder (Gasunie) and Prajeev Rasiah (DNV).
This agreement strengthens the long-standing relationship between Gasunie and DNV and highlights the role of DNV’s Technology Centre Groningen as a trusted technical partner for infrastructure critical to the energy transition.

Prajeev Rasiah, Executive Vice President and Regional Director for Northern Europe, Energy Systems at DNV, commented: "Supporting the energy transition means supporting the critical infrastructure that underpins it. We are proud to continue our collaboration with Gasunie, leveraging the advanced capabilities of our Technology Centre in Groningen to deliver technical services that help ensure resilience, safety, and innovation across the evolving energy landscape."
Gasunie’s transport system includes over 12,000 kilometers of pipelines and thousands of installations. As the energy sector evolves, Gasunie is actively developing new networks - including hydrogen, CO₂ transport and storage, and heat networks - alongside maintaining and optimizing their existing infrastructure.
Through this agreement, DNV will continue to play an important role in supporting Gasunie’s maintenance, testing, and technical advisory needs, contributing to a future-proof energy system for the Netherlands and beyond.
