Ocean Ecology, a DNV company, acquires Shoreline Surveys to strengthen marine survey capabilities
Ocean Ecology, a leading marine environmental consultancy and part of DNV – a global leader in assurance, risk management, and certification – is pleased to announce the acquisition of Shoreline Surveys Limited. The acquisition enhances DNV’s position as a leading provider of marine biodiversity, environmental and aquaculture services by expanding its expertise and service offerings.
Shoreline has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality hydrographic and geophysical surveys, specializing in services for ports and harbours, consultants, dredging and harbour maintenance companies, and the regulatory and development sectors.
The growing demand for marine biodiversity and environmental services reflects a heightened awareness of biodiversity risks within the sector. As the industry grapples with evolving sustainability standards, the need for robust environmental solutions to mitigate potential ecological impacts is increasing.
By offering tailored solutions that integrate biodiversity considerations into operational strategies, DNV enables operators to navigate complex regulatory landscapes while fostering environmental stewardship and resilience in ocean-based industries.
"We are very pleased to welcome Shoreline Surveys to DNV. This acquisition greatly reinforces our commitment to sustainable marine biodiversity development,” said Thomas Vogth-Eriksen, Global Aquaculture Director Supply Chain & Product Assurance at DNV. “By combining Ocean Ecology’s marine environmental expertise and Shoreline’s hydrographic and geophysical survey capabilities with DNV’s longstanding experience in marine biodiversity, we can now provide a very comprehensive service offering for clients, navigating the broad complexities of marine projects."
Emile Foote, Managing Director at Shoreline Surveys added: "Becoming part of Ocean Ecology and DNV marks an exciting new chapter for Shoreline. This partnership gives us the resources and expertise to scale our operations and deliver even greater value to our clients while preserving the quality and attention to detail that Shoreline is known for."
